Buddy had an 05 summit 1000. We towed him back to the truck after crank failure.

I had a 81 Moto-ski Futura 300, that was a factory long tracked and it sucked balls at Quartz in 1981. We barely got to the cabin with it. At least it was better then my buddies 81 Ski-doo MX 5500!!

Did anybody here have the pleasure of riding with a vmax-4 in the mountains? I couldn't imagine how that would have been.

I had 95 vmax4 800. Thing was a rocket. That thing ate belts worse than a 8 fitty though. Went through 10 belts one winter. But can’t remember anybody out high marking it. Thing was a climber but when the 96 summit came out that was the sled to own.

I don't think there was a lot of proud Dragon owners in the early years of that platform. Lots of motor failures. But so were the 2007 Summit 800's. Changed a few of those motors out between clutch rebuilds.

I think the Dragons are close to the top of list. So many blown motors. The 2011-12 pro was pretty bad for motors too. The 850 sure seems to have lots of problems. bad on belts, stators, CDI issues, bulkhead, head issues and crank failures.

I thought my 2010 dragon was the best thing ever..... until the start of the 2013 season and then the engine blew up. 4 engines in 7 weeks(one sled was dealer loaner). for me after 8 sleds the dragon would of made a better boat anchor than a mountain sled.

Still ride and love my 08 Dragon.

Would give the vertical escape more of a failure then the Dragon.

My vote would be for the king cat though. Saw more of those going no where then anything else

I kinda agree the stock pro isn’t that great. But after you give a extreme sled makeover and dump $12000 in extras it’s probably the best mountain sled ever built....
