Isn't that the truth. We experienced the same thing moving. Very hard to find a family doctor. One of them said, "I will not work like the older doctors worked and not enjoy life. I am going to work only 4 days a week with no call outs and do my thing at the lake in the summer and the ski hill in the winter."
We found one and I was not happy with his manner so to speak. The new one we found appears to be very good and very thorough. You are absolutely right about tough to find one.

In fairness do you blame them? My doc is in his sixties and still works 6 days a week or did when I seen him last as well as his wife in their practice, crazy to think about how much $$ they are making but why at that age? And always a long wait to see him like 1-3 hours so no chance they can take more patients, thankfully I never go to the doctor.

Tough to find family doctors anywhere. None are taking on new patients. The only ones I can find I cannot pronounce there names. I type them in google and the reviews are awefull. I’ll keep looking but need to find someone decent that don’t have to pull out there iPhone do diagnose me. And not incorrectly as well. Had a bad experience at a medi center

Ya definitely, my family doc took a job with the military a couple years ago, was kind of a pain to find a new one

My family doctor is awesome but his internet reviews are terrible. People don't like being told they are overweight, eat like garbage, drink too much and need to exercise. Especially women, they automatically go on the defensive and leave a bad review. people want a quick solution, a medication, treatment. Not put in the hard work. More people take the time to leave a bad review than a good one.

And take prescribed medication for their ailment that has a list of side effects a mile long without question but I'll stop there!:rolling:

My doctor told me a few years ago when I had a gall bladder attack late one night and went to emergency that I needed to lose weight because we thought it was a heart attack at first. I told him being an avid cross country skier, hiker and jogger like he was and having a heart attack how that was working out for him? He smiled and said touche. Lol

Found a doctor in callingwood. Booked for Tuesday. Heading in to city tomorrow morning around 10 am. First time out myself. See how that goes feels good to be upright and on my feet. Right side numbness comes and goes. And still able to fully function.

You have to be your own Dr these days, I wouldn’t fully rely on any family Dr. Do your research, educate yourself.

Specialists are typically pretty decent, but the GP, had eyebrow raising experiences myself and family members.

Sign up for my Alberta health. You can generally see 90% of test results instantly as they’re released to your chart. Lots of info on it. I get a full blood work panel done every 6 months.

Yep. I’m going to have a peek at the Alberta health app. I’m on there.

Feeling better and better by the day. My energy and stamina are increasing. I love walking around with the staples in back of head and halo scars on my forehead. Tomorrow morning im taking tryc bandages off. Shaving, showering. Will feel renewed. Then driving into city. Let you know how my fist day without being babysat goes.

Thursday Update: Slowly getting energy levels up, still low, minimal stamina. Went into city on Wednesday, stopped in at a big clients. Had a big fire come in on jasper avenue, 4 story's affected went there and gave my site guy a run through, he's on it for a few days. Stopped in at Martins said hi to the guys. Then stopped in at parents for supper. Guess I must eat at a table not in living room with tray on table hunched over to eat, that didnt go well to start but got better once i was at kitchen on island. Food goes down wrong pipe. All my liquids should be mildly thick (nectar) even my soup. Cant wait to eat a steak at the Keg again, YUM. Constantly working on right hand and foot. Cant yet turn the door knob, or hold phone. Strong but no control. Blood pressure at times is low, have to put saltwater in feeding tube and wait.

Cleaned the ice from the driveway, brought the sled out. Tried to start it. Too sore from my chest tube to pull the rope. Shoot. Will try again in a few days. Good right hand therapy on the skid steer.
