I'm looking at getting a tuner for my 2010 duramax and I'm just wondering what other brands work good other than the H&S? If found superchips, bullydog, edge and I'm sure a few others for really cheap. What are your experiences? I'm just looking for a little better fuel mileage. The truck already has the DPF deleted and I'm putting on a single Magnaflow 4". Any info is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Call ATP in Idaho and buy an autocal from them. Efilive is the best for dmax.

From what I've been told by our local diesel shop is that h&s and PPE are the only ones that work with the delete and exhaust and PPE is alot cheaper just it's plug in controller no screen

I had the bully dog triple dog on my 2010 duramax before I did my dpf delete and found out afterwards that it did not support the delete. the only thing available to me at the time was the h&s minni max. quite costly at $1700! it definatly has better tunes IMO. PPE is cheaper but no screen so no switching on the fly.

EfiLive, any tuner that switches on the fly is hard on the tranny, the allison trans get used to the power and adjusts the shifts accordingly, changes tunes on the fly can F that all up.

I am not a fan of tuners, but our Son had an Edge in his Duramax and replaced it a couple weeks ago with EFI Live. It's hard to believe how much better/smoother the truck idles, runs and shifts. I think it might be better than stock. He had it installed in Calgary.

In my head
Trans tunes on the Mini Maxx are pre-selected and do not change if the power level is changed. As I understand it the tans tune does not change shift patterns no matter the power input ,it stays on the trans tune you selected. It's so subtle you can't tell anything has changed till you mash the pedal. How is that hard on the tranny??

defiantly go with and efi live with the auto cal so you can upload new tunes in the future for added parts or tire sizes. Mitch in Edmonton is awesome EFI Live Duramax Custom Tuning. Authorized Dealer. Increased MPG | other parts, accessories | Edmonton | Kijiji. i got my set up from Jamie in Lloyd at Canadian Diesel Online - Canadian Diesel Specialists/No Duty or Brokerage his tunes are from Motor-ops. either guy will hook u up with a DSP 5 switch and spade auto cal unit.

Have fun with the new truck! lol

I have dealt with Mitch also. Stand up guy with great support. Most of that stuff was over my head but Mitch explained the install easily over the phone.

I have been running the edge evolution off road dpf delete tuner on my 6.4l f350 for 5 years. Funny enough i get my best milage on power level 3 of 4. Used to be level 2 but after an update a few years back and some playing around. 3 gives me best milage. I am mostly hiway. Truck is definitely more sensitive to good vs crap fuel though too. Ufa fuel well drop my tank by 100km sometimes. Typically use shell or husky.
