Understanding diesel exhaust aftertreatment systems

My 18 max from 45-105k could not go 2 months without being in the shop. At the time to delete it was 12g. Sent that pos down south and I got a new 22 platinum for 34g extra. Had the truck for 1.5 years now and zero visits to the shop. I miss a few things from the max but not enough to justify having a broke down truck all the time.

412k on my 17 F350 now with no issues. Hope the 22 is the same.
