Westridge today. That is my uncle standing on his rear bumper. Tit deep all day where the wind is depositing it. Still less than 60cm in places where the wind has swept it

This morning report from the lodge , it's still coming down hard , total white out .
This morning pic

Allan yesterday

Yup, we left vale at 645 Alberta time this morning and the roads/weather to jasper were horrendous. Probably better now but I wouldn't recommend travel.

Also, the petro-can in jasper has a broken diesel pump. We rolled into Hinton with about 3L left in the tank.

On another note , 2 guys spent the night in a creek bed in Allen Creek , a cpl of our crew spent 8 hours yesterday helping a Cple guys getting 2 sleds wrenched out . Then about 6 pm they made contact with 2 other guys that where on the other side of the creek . We got there coordinates , made sure they had food and water , and fire starter for the night. Called in search and rescue who picked them up about 2 today. They are now sitting by fire thawed out at the lodge having a few drinks.
So I'd like to thank Scott and Jake who drove 950 Kms from McMurray and spent the last 2 days of the best snow in years walking down the side of a creek bed to help complete strangers get there sled out then spending most of the day today in contact with the guys who spent the night reassuring help was on the way.

Huge thanks to all of you... We had a few tense hours overnight when we learned a few of our own never came home to their young children and wife last night. I know they were relieved to have reassurance through the night and a rescue to warmer temps. We were pretty relieved when we heard the good news. Makes you think twice about how fast things go sideways and what it takes to "hang out" overnight when incidents like this hit so close to home...

The people at yellow head helicopters, search n rescue, and all the people who came together to help these guys make it home deserve a thumbs up. The one thing that made it possible was a radio that could send positions because that's all the helicopter and search rescue needed to bring these guys back. Also wanted to say thanks to terry and Lisa because after all there help still had time to cook up a great supper!!!
