Recently saw a Porsche Ceyenne S pull into the campground towing a 24 foot side door tow hauler with rear slide. Everyone in our group started freaking out....it just didn't look right...at all! We wanted to walk up and ask them to prove to me they were legal. Couple of us did some research and apparently it can tow 7,700Lbs. Took a close look at the trailer specs, how many adults, what was in the back of car, what was in the trailer etc...tongue weight had to be waaay over. Can't imagine what it was like trying to slow that load down on a descent. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Lots of people would walk by and shake their head. No one wanted to be on the road near that setup. Tried to get pics but kept getting the evil stare.

Wonder how long that transmission and rear suspension will last? Porsche be making some good money on those repairs!!

No it isn’t, but Again what’s that little contraption going to do for a pickup???

If you’re putting that much weight in the back to overload the rear axle, that extra axle jeep is just going to put the truck over the GVWR rating.
Seems like a waste of time and money, just buy a more capable truck.

What’s next? Oversized flags on the bumper and flashing amber lights!!! Lol

It wont affect the gvw since it is towed and lifts weight off the truck. It would fall under gcwr and I'm guessing ads a 3500lb axle with brakes if built right.

It would actually work very well, same as a booster on a lowbed trailer, and do the same thing as equalizer bars on a hitch throwing weight forward to the steering and back to the trailer axles. It has it’s own onboard compressor for the air bags and it’s a steerable axle, since it hooks into the hitch receiver it’s considered a trailer and falls under GCWR not GVWR.

It would work very well for what? I f you regularly put enough weight in the box of your truck to require such a ridiculous contraption, you would be much better off to buy a truck that was designed to carry that kind of weight.
