Just got back from Stewart B.C. with Lost and others. Had a blast sledding on the May long weekend. You have to drive through Hyder Alaska to get to the staging area. I will let Lost tell more.

Here are some pics

Nice shots Pat. Looks like I missed a nice area. Hyder looks like Trout Lake all the old buildings and such. How was your stay. Did Albert have any problems passing as Terry across the border? Where is the Glacier Ice for my drink???

Stewart must be an ancient Indian word that means bring more gas. It is cool to tell people that we drove through Alaska to get to where we sled. Snow was a stones throw from where we unloaded the trail up was groomed and only 7 Km. to alpine. It is hard to describe how large the area is, the cabin area is larger than Rensaw some climbs to get to the next area would take at least 5 min. at 7500 rpm. and when you got to the top you would stop and look at your buddys and say chit does it ever end, then ride over the next ridge and repeat. The Samon Glacier and the Betty glacier are just stupid long with climbing all the way up on both sides then off to the large areas and check gas, get pi$$ed becuse you did'nt pack enough and you played to much on the way up. Thank you to Jay from Katchikan AK. for guiding us on the second day very warm and no clouds to quote Jay it was KILLER MAN JUST KILLERRRRRR. I will let Player chime in to describe what the view is like behind the yammey ,bungies are priceless. Yes it is 16 hours from home and the costal weather is not predictable but when it all comes together sun ,steep and deep, good people it is priceless we are already planing next years trip this time in march or april. Jay tells us don't even try to go Dec. till end Feb. you won't have sun and chances are you won't make it to the cabin 5' of snow per dump is common. IF you go to Stewart in the spring ride with as much gas as you can carry then find room for more. The only down side is the restaurants close at 8 pm but the king crab and steak is very good and free thanks to Player and Gerald. Gerald even stoped climbing to take pictures this is hard to believe.;)

Here is what I got from your notes:

- chit does it ever end (the hills)
- glacier are just stupid long
- KILLER MAN JUST KILLERRRRRR
- Gerald stoped climbing to take pictures???
- pi$$ed because you did'nt pack enough fuel

Sounds like you guys had a great trip. 16 hours is a long haul but it seems like it was worth every hour.

I'm sorry, did I read that correct...Gerald stopped to take photos....I can't wait to hang that one on him :)

Oh Yes very happy.

I took a couple of videos just with my camera they seem ok.

The one with Gerald's sled falling into a hole is cool.

A trip like that should make the "Big Grump" a real happy guy.
Fantastic Photos.

Hey Pat, did you take much video and how did it work out?
