Hey I want to put a 3inch track on my free ride. I have drivers off a 163 t3
and I figured that was going to be the only part besides the track to make that
happen.

yesterday someone told me that won't work because the T3 has a dropped chain case.

can someone confirm if this will work or not.

if you have put a 3inch track on a free ride before
any tips are useful to me.

thanks

I am pretty sure what they told you was correct. I remember reading it. I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine but may just got to a 163 2.5 track instead.

Ask Bnorth on here, he used a T3 shaft and 3 inch track on his 14 xm, but never dropped it I don't think

thats going to be tight it will not perform aswell as a T3 154 without the extra inch of clearance but will still be an improvement.

Yeah im thinking that new 2.8 inch track might be the way to go?

anybody try one? I hear they are pretty good

Yeah a 3" fits with a stock chaincase and the T3 shaft and drivers. More clearance than running avid drivers too. Maxwell is right it doesn't work quite as well as the T3 with the longer chaincase but it's close. Works ok with stock clutching but fine tune the clutching and gearing to make it shine.

thanks for the reply! I'm wondering if that 2.8inch track might work
better than a 3inch for the free ride because it will have a bit more clearance?

Ive never seen this track yet, just heard its good

maybe call riderz in edson. i seem to recall cody doing this on a freeride and it didnt fit. not sure why it should be the same as a regular XM

yeah thats not a bad idea. Free ride could be different than a regular xm maybe?

i havent tried it yet but i would look into that if its available in 16 wide

Just looked, only available in 15inch wide, guess that option is out.

Not sure why they wouldn't have a 16 wide. Wtf

Rode that 2.8 on an 163 axy. Have never rode a stock axy, but felt my stock t3 163" hooked up better. Paddles kind of felt like they were folding on me
