yes they can ask for it anytime, but you are only required to show photo id licence registration, insurance if and when you are driving a motorized vehicle on Puclic lands and roads. priviate land you have the right to refuse, walking down the street you can show him you library card with your name on it. that is law in CAnada , i have no idea what goes on in the states.

https://fb.watch/3GQV8ce7PO/ this is the law here in Canada starts at 20:20 or so, Randi Hiller interview with police officer.

Actually you are required to produce ID if you are riding a bicycle as well. You don't have to provide any information to law enforcement if you are just stopped on the street, unless you are being detained.

Only if they see you commit an offence! otherwise jingle bells

If you are riding a bicycle, and the police see you commit an offence (such as failing to stop at a red light), they can stop you.6 If asked, you must provide your name and address to the police in these circumstances. They can arrest you if you refuse to do so.

the biggest one i see is don't let police in your house for any reason unless they have a warrant ANY REASON. don't care if he needs a drink of water

and you are not required to answer any police questions, the less you say the better off you'll be. you will never talk your way out of an arrest.

Will they need a warrant to come for my guns if I refuse to sell them back to the govt for peanuts?

i would think once the popo come looking for registered guns, they will be taking everything, Highwood comes to mind.

also i'm thinking cell phones will be compromised by the popo's especially with thumb print, facial recognition and eye scans. so easy to get into your phone, better get rid of anything compromising now?

Yeah that was a bad deal. Back then had a PM that disciplined them for it. Not anymore.

best to find new homes. spill a few pails of nails around, washers bolts. fish hooks? nothing more frustrating to someone metal detecting.

then you would be wrong! google it. yes they can ask for it anytime, you are required to show your licence, registration, insurance when you are driving a motorized vehicle on Public lands and roads. also if being charged for a crime or suspectedof one. you do not have to when on private land , walking down the street or vehicle passenger. that is the law in Canada , i have no idea what goes on in the states.

My post was only meant to emphasize the existing thread topic on RCMP in parking lots and carding. This is a topic that could go on for ever as some of the current post are showing on many many different situations.
The point was yes they can ask for ID and registrations at the parking lot(staging area) as per OP's question.

Could they come into my yard and doit, well that's for another thread.
Have a good evening gentlemen.

If you require referances.. My co-counsel, Moyiesled might provide it....
Operative word is "Might",, not "Will."

Ha, ha! Ya.....no. I've posted the links so many times now the 3 people that will actually read them probably have. The rest are on their own.

Ya but those regulations go round and round...confusing...gonna need some help. Wait, I will just carry my registration, insurance and licence and go play in the snow. May get busted for the fireball though.

Time after time there’s guys on here faced with having their machines stolen....and people complaining that the cops never catch the guys.....then you’re bitching because the cops are checking paperwork and VIN’s in random checks.....so riddle me this....how are the cops supposed to catch thieves and stolen equipment without looking for it?
You may know you’re a stand up guy, your stuff is yours....but nobody else does, and you look like just another guy with a sled and a truck, one of dozens that those cops see every week...so either quit complaining about random checks, or quit complaining about stuff being stolen....

you obviously have not had/had attempted robbery of your property.

you actually think the crackheads that steal sleds are going to(first of all) ride them, and that they will ride them in a highly visible and LEO accessible spot like a know staging area? and that LEO will catch them there with a stolen sled they decide to take for a joy ride? you really think taht?

i had my truck attempted to be stolen not once, but twice in the same month. The cops would not even come out to take some pictures, look at the vehicle, or anything. TWICE.

don't sit on your horse defending their actions as trying to catch bad guys. if that was true they would actually give a CHIT when a crime does occur. just my personal experience.

its about harassment and issuing tickets for revenue generation. point blank.

Every year someone posts about their truck getting broke into at some staging area and many are jumping on the clubs to have more security.
Then when there is a police presence someone has an issue with it.....
Like it or not they are trying to do their job.

Agreed would rather cops ask me for ID then have my **** stolen. Not sure why everyone’s being a puss hahah unless ......they’re the ones stealing my premium gas.............

would be great if they were there to make sure no one stole your gas.

problem is catching the guy stealing your gas doesn't count towards their performance expectation quota
