So it's time for a change. Getting a totally different sled will make riding brand new again. Polaris axis 163-3" is where I'm headed. Tell me why I should or shouldn't buy one. We've never had a polaris in our group. I buy new sleds every year and need my rides to last 40-60 days of hard riding.

Love the 2018 cat. But Im surrounded by them every weekend. Lol. My Dealer support with Polaris will be top notch and in Edmonton. The cat dealer I use is Shuswap xtreme in salmon arm.

Ive convinced myself tonight. Found one today and will buy it tomorrow. I Should still be able to reach 2000km on it this season. I'm Taking this weekend off riding then I'm going hard on trips. I'm an aggressive rider and will push the sled and post results.

The axys is a great sled. you will need 2 things, Jaws pipe and a camso X3 or 2.8 track. the stock track isnt very good. Makes the Axys so much better.

Track (1400) Pipe (500). plus you can get around 700 back from the original track. so its only a $1200 upgrade. Pretty minimal. The New 850 goes thru that in belts in a year..

wont get mad. With my luck a new 850 won't work out. I've had belt issues on half on my xm's. With the end of season prices I can get a good deal on 2017's. Axis. Doing the deal this am. I hope I like it.

I think you'll like it. I have the 2016 163x3 Axys and am at 1650km on it. I ran my factory belt up to 1000km and then put on a new Pro-generation belt (different part number) and have ran that since (wanted to break in the spare and check if it performed differently), but my factory belt is still good and in my spare belt holder.

Changes I recommend: add tether, Alt Impact narrow A arms (36-37").

The Polaris tunnel bag and seat bar are pretty nice, try to get them at a discount though.

BTW it seems like buying an in-season 2017 or 2016 left-over from a dealer right now will be a LOT cheaper than snowchecking a 2018, and the 2018 is the same sled.

I could tell you why to do it, but you will just have guys arguing not to do it, so maybe its just easier to make up your own decision and buy whatever it is you want because its your money

This type of question should be thrown at someone with a axys and +5000km to give you a good report on long term/hard riding durability. These days most any sled will live half that easily.

That's what I was looking for. Seems lots of guys only ride 6-1000 km per year. I picking it up tomorrow morning. I'm pretty excited to ride a different brand. Since 2013 I've had a back country x. Freeride 137 and 154. 2013 163. 2 - 2014 163. A 2015 t3174 and a 2016 163t3 and 2016 154 freeride. Due to being gun shy on the 850 I'm swinging to a totally new brand. I will be the only Polaris in the group which will make it fun too.
