I think there's been a gopher explosion around brooks this year and with it staying relatively dry the grass isn't to tall. I can go to any lease around here and shoot as many as you want and still not make a dent. Kids are loving it this year.

Are there any laws or regulations around shooting gophers? Do you shoot them just for fun or because they're a nuisance and need to be removed from a farm or something? Excuse my ignorance I'm born and raised a city boy!

They're a pest. They dig holes in pastures and grazing land which results in holes which livestock and horses can break legs in.

And it is sooooooo much fun. Any invites where a guy and stretch out some 223's and 22-250's for an afternoon let me know. My neck of the woods is rather sparce for gophers. Can't imagine why

Also if left long enough, badgers will move in and make some really big holes! Those are awesome when driving equipment or god help you if you find one in your pickup.

......and it's super fun. :)

Badgers are horrible, eating my damn gophers. Haha. Well this one is done eating them. Took this one at 12 yards.

You gonna skin that badger out for a nice little ornament? It's been awhile since I've seen one of them.

We cleaned out around 150 -200 gophers on Saturday out by mirror. .223 and a 17 HMR sure are fun. I got two of the buggers with one round. Was funny to see them explode at 150 yards lol.
