I saw a couple of them on the highway by Milk River last week and heard they are out at Claresholm already. I might not have much fun with the 22 at home this year, shot around 80 of them on 20 acres. The ravens had a helluva feast though!

Can you set up a .22 to shoot gophers accurately at 100+ yards? My scope doesn't feel like it zooms in enough. At 40 yards it's pretty bang on. Shot 25 in the last 2 days.

Change scope to one with more zoom? Something like a 4-16x.

Ya you can. .22 has a lot of drop at 100 yards though. Just have to figure that out .wind is the challenge at that distance. I have shot them at 80 yards with my SR..22. Way more fun at 200 yards with a .223 or what not

Absolutely, with the right ammo. The cheap stuff isn't consistent enough to do it repeatedly.

CCI velocitors or stingers should have no problem.

What scope are you using? I usually leave mine on 8x or 10x. At around 40 yds I aim at their knees, and around 100 I aim at their forehead. Both usually wind up in a nice 'plop' sounding mid mass shot.

ready to try my HMR .17 , should be good to 200-250 yds. A bit more pricey though.

Anyone shooting gophers?? Probably shot about 500 so far and still lots to go.
I have been out once and shot about 75. I need to find some good spots so I can have the girls out more. Seems hard to get permission now a days. If you need help with getting rid of more let me know!

Went out with my daughter and it was a slow afternoon, clouded over with some sprinkles. She got 12 and after letting her try out the 22wmr instead of the ruger 22 she would not give it back! Haha.
