Ha ha msrp prices are never going down… incentives to move non current ya sure, but scarcity seems to have solved most of that lately.

In 2016 when i bought my wifes sled in december the price was 15000 154x3 800 etec electric start we waited till jan 13th and we were 12500 out the door due to incentives my buddy had got his snowcheck and put 100kms on it compared to my wifes same sled for $3000ish some less. I think your going to start seeing some incentives again look how many 2023 polaris and skidoos are on kijiji right now at dealerships. You compare that to last year there were like none to be found. I got my 2023 expert 154 small screen turbo for just over 25000 otd i plan to do the same as always ride for 3 seasons then sell on the 4th i plan to add the extra warenty to this sled what this sled will be worth in 3-4 yesr prob around that 12-15 mark but who knows mb i wont be able to give it away its a toy u dont make money on them lol

The real difference going forward will be the interest rate... As you can see by this BOC trend for the last 25yrs.
Most younger riders have never dealt with these types of rates... this will cool the purchasing with the "buy now, pay later" crowd...

Just wait until the big dealers try and pull the price is $2500 more if you pay cash over financing a sled like some of the cars dealers are still doing
Look at all tbose sleezy dealerships on kijiji no cash no direct payment finance only how is that eveb legal? Only way u can buy is to finance like get fawked

They might start to think differently once the new-non current units start piling up…

Can hardly wait until this time next year…

While it's certainly sleezy of the dealers the reasoning behind the policy didn't start with them. The lenders started this, they give the dealers kickbacks for every vehicle they finance, if that kickback is $2,500 the dealer ups the cash purchase price $2,500 so their profit is the same either way.

IMO this practice should be illegal.

I understand what you’re trying to say, yet this doesn’t make sense… the financing incentive is just that, they make that extra for signing someone up… but its still the dealership deciding to add to the price of a cash deal…
At some point the dealership starts paying on units sitting… in my world, carryover has a cost…. And now with rising interest rates, that cost will be even higher which leads me to think that it would be in the dealer’s best interests to get that unit out the door ….buy parts, oil, gear… crash, more parts, new helmet from the crash.

Or let the units sit on the showroom floor and hope that turd of a salesman can squeeze an extra $1000 bucks out of it.

Absolutely, that policy may change with the market, but up to now it hasn't needed to, there's always been more buyers than units to buy, so extra profit was extra profit.

And don't forget that the factory warranty is being reduced as well on the new sleds. So when you think you are getting a wicked deal on that used two year old sled keep in mind that it likely has little to no warranty left. Some people are ok with that; but when your wicked deal, "I got a '22 turbo something or another for $18K" goes down on the second day you ride it and you are out of pocket $8K now to repair it...... Keep in mind that adding extra warranty is ~ $1000/year when you are looking at sleds on Kijiji.

If you don’t think that 18k for a 2022 is not a good deal than people are getting cheaper the cost of warranty will be added to most sleds.
Some sleds had a year warranty, some had 3 in 2022. 2022 turbos had the best warranty.

If I had a sled with extra warranty and no one wanted to pay for it, than it will not be transferred to the new owner, want cheap? You got it.
Better off buying a new NA than, and get some back into the used market, that will get a extra year over a turbo.

Pretty sure the new owner transfers it with the dealer not your choice. That’s how Polaris works anyway costs new owner $40.

This place is hilarious, you can definitely tell who is sensitive about the value of their sled. The market talks, BS walks and time of year plays a huge part in this sport.

Another huge factory is where the economy is going . Buddy snagged a 356km 22 tdoo expert last March fir 18,5 needed a rear bumper. That was a good deal at the time. As every month passes their will be more and more fire sales.

Manufacture warranty is one thing, aftermarket warranty is another. It’s the same for the extended GM warranty on my truck. I have to transfer it, or I cancel it and get a prorated refund from GM. I do not have to give the warranty to the new owner if they are not willing to buy it.

If your referring to me, not sensitive at all. My stuff when I’m ready to get rid of it, is forsale, not on sale, I could care less to be honest. Good to pay cash for things and have things paid for.
I have a G5, if people on here are thinking they will be 18g next year than they are either delusional, or I’m wrong and there will be 1 less sled available to the used market.

Yep; That's a good deal for sure. Unless it had no warranty; then it's just fair as compared to the other '22 that was $20,500 with two years warranty remaining. I do think there will always be the guys that finance everything and are constantly trying to get out of one payment to take on another. Those are the firesale guys usually.
