Hey how come the same internet tough guys calling for a civil war are scared to cross the 'closed' border to go sledding?

Not scared to cross the border. I was there last weekend and will continue going.

I usually host the FSA Bob Arnott family ride at the rolling hills cabin. As per the new rules I guess we better cancel it?

It typically is the first saturday after christmas but this year it is booked for Jan 2nd. Hopefully things have calmed down and we can host it in some way
Isn't that always after the new year every year?

You shot yourself in the foot LUCKY 7. Snopro baths in Doolaid and only rides Revy! Riding with a Polaris in Fernie would likely be outside his comfort zone! Hopefully he proves me wrong!

negative on rentals or B&b. Pretty sure that was on the $2000 fine list. As well gatherings over 6 people... another $2k. Ohh and hanging out with rabdoms... another $2k.

DId you read the list of infractions? It does not say you can't rent a property.

It is pretty clear that only if you have a gathering of 5 or more BEYOND the rental guests then a fine is in order. That should not effect most people.

There is a big difference from "shouldn't" and "can't" . I shouldn't buy a new sled. But that never stopped me.

Exactly, Looks like sledding is game on to me.

Until the International flights are cancelled first in Vancouver, it would be a huge conflict of interest to ban Interprovincial travel.

Seems all the BC clubs are still quite on the subject yet ?
The communities / towns / clubs will make the biggest difference in how this all plays out ? IMO

Exemptions

High performance athletes are not included in the order. To qualify as a high performance athlete, you must be:

Identified by the Canadian Sports Institute Pacific as a high performance athlete affiliated with an accredited provincial or national sports organization

Already training in B.C.

Continuing to follow the safety guidelines of your provincial sports organization

I am not sure how to read this, but could the BCSF or a individual club write up a guideline to full fill the exemption requirement?

Or does that just pertain to high performance athletes?

With the lack of specific information and "grey area" they have no choice but to be quiet and choose their speaking points carefully. Even if a town/club wants to encourage patronage they can't come right out and say that because it would be viewed by many as being irresponsible and going against public health warnings. Like stated yesterday if you want to know what the local temperature is in a specific area pick up the phone and call a representative directly, they are more likely to speak candidly one on one.

Incoming flights are daily and not only from China, immediately followed by Covid exposure warning on many flights. It’s mind boggling that we are supposed to stay home yet international travel carries right on.
