"I CAN DO WHAT I WANT WHEN AND WHERE I WANT".

That unfortunately is the attitude of a lot of people. You can't legislate common sense or respect for others. The same attitude pertains to riding in restricted areas etc. Maybe just talk to them when you see them and hope to not get too much verbal abuse.

Why not ask them if they have a snowmobile trail pass for their quad?

I'm not trying to be ignorant, I'm just curious. What I'm asking is... are quads or UTV's that HAVE TRACKS allowed on the trails or not??
Although I have never rode my quad with tracks on a groomed trail, in powder snow it leaves less of a mark then a snowmobile does.

So to be clear, I understand the argument against quads and SXS's with tires on groomed trails. But what if they have tracks??

Do you have a snowmobile trail pass for your quad?

I would have to check the ASA rules to be 100% sure but there again, I have no issue asking the questions.

If the rules state otherwise, I say theres no reason ONLY sledders should be aloud to enjoy the winter. Not everyone is a sledder....

We have a usage agreement with the county of Lac St.Anne for the maintenance and exclusive usage of the trails. An ASA pass helps to cover the cost of insurance and maintenance... each grooming costs about $1800 and takes approx 30 hours volunteer time...

Who owns the trails?

You guys can enjoy the winter all you want.....just not on groomed snowmobile trails with quads and then with NO trail pass to boot. Some people don't understand how the ruts cause sleds to dart and pitch all over the trail. I did that for 15 miles on the Ironhorse one year and it was no fun. And, the day my wife or kids hit those ruts caused by quads on a groomed snowmobile trail and they get thrown off and and hurt and the sled ends up in a tree.....well, lets just say there will be some very unhappy quaders!

Guess I should have read the whole thread first... lol....

We can explain until we are blue in the face, most people get it but you can't fix stupid.... There are ATV trails available in the AB beach area in winter, HHA is accessible by ATV & SxS, and I'll even give you the east side of Hwy 43 & the north side of 633...

I wouldnt personally ruin a groomed sledding trail myself, thats just immature imho. BUT theres no need for bitching and causing stress between the two groups is what I was getting at.

I would not however recommend anyone come up to me ever and give me the what for LOL

The bitching and whining all starts because some people have no respect for others.....

I'll agree with you there. Same thing happened here in Sylvan. No one would respect the law so now no one can ride in town limits anymore :/

Yeah, I heard about that.....that sucks.....but, its happening all over nowadays....In Morinville they allow us a straight ride in to a gas station and back out again but its just a matter of time before someone screws it up.....and hey, go to the beer and babes section in the tailgate chat for more avatar related material.....LOL
