Great Job... My question is and excuse me if it is pointless.. Will that rotating mass of the clamp(s) create an unbalanced effect over the drive train?... Creating another possible issue...

I agree with cuso its going to be nothing for vibration or unbalanced cause the drive shaft doesn't spin all that fast and if you look under your sled at your drivers mid day riding there is so much snow and ch!t stuck in your drivers and there is never vibration. And the fact that it is only a few grams different and pretty close to the centre i cant see it causing vibration.

Well, if the driver in one revolution makes 1.9 feet, and spins 1000 rpm, you will go 1900 feet in one minute. That's a lot of speed for a mountain sled, and 1000 rpm is slow.
That's 21 MPH or 34 km /hr.1900 ft in 1 min. Yes or no ?The shaft must spin more than 1000 rpm. Anybody?

i did the math to its probably like 2500 to 3000 but your talking 1.5" of center and only a few grams not a pound on one side 20" from center. Doesn't anyone else get huge snow build up in there drivers during a day of riding and i never seem to get vibration maybe its just me.

Stay the course Tyson. The driveshaft isn't even gonna know the clamps are there. Lol.

Sweet Job Tyson H. A CNC machine would be so much fun. I could build so many neat parts. Nice job

Sorry if this has been answered already, but is this driveshaft issue for all 2013 rmk's or just Pro's? I just bought a 2013 regular rmk 800 that hasn't left the garage yet.

Thanks.

Only the PRO shaft is this way, the reg RMK has last years shaft in it now worries.
HMMM well I am pretty sure anyway :)

After reading the internet posts about drive shaft this and quickdrive that I'm very happy to say that the 2013 pro is the best tree riding deep snow sled out of the box. This thing is unbelievable and sidehills and climbs out of things that the 2012 couldn't. Going to install the $70 fix for my driveshaft and then ride the piss out of it all winter!

They aren't dangerous and requiring fix parts either lmao what's your point why did you even have to add that.

Easy Maxwell, he just doesn't understand that you can't just run around on the internet saying what ever you want when you want. I think he should read the etiquette to posting on chat forums for snowmobile owners.

Its OK M7 carver he's really a nice guy. Just don't steal his shoes or leave Muff Pots laying around and DON'T FEED THE BEARS

Wow after reading this I started getting worried about my new Pro.... But then i remembered how worked up I got last year about Cats blowing motors and guess what 500 miles on the 2012 Cat and no issues...

Chances are very few failures will occur and even fewer will occur after the first 50km.

You can sure tell there are way to many S&Mers that are extremely anxious to get out and ride. For me I'll be loading up next Wednesday taking a risk that something will break while I'm in the mountains just like I always have every year regardless what I ride...

Have fun out there.

Now i feel better
