Venting on exhaust side of 2010 M8

I'm running the stock can/suitcase on my 2010 M8 and was wondering about installling the side vent kit on that side, it seems that the vent screening will be really close to the exhaust. Has anyone installed a a vent kit on this side, did it melt or is there enough air exchange to keep it cool? The existing panel has heat shielding insulation on it.

i run a slp single pipe kit on my '10 m8, i tore off all the insulation on both sides and put vents on the side panels. havent had any problems at all
