If the highway through there is any indication there isn`t enough snow in the hills. When we came through on Monday there wasn`t any snow on the ground, not even in the shadows of the trees.

me and a few of the guys were first into ranger creek last year. the creek was not frozen yet. made for a lot of rock banging! not much snow yet. cheaper to drive to bc, than spend 500-1000 on repairs. and we live in rocky!

Don't get me wrong BC is great thats why I go at least twice a month.

But Onion lake is Awesome when it has snow.Huge hills, Sick cliff drops and
natural terrian jumps(Some of the best drops and jumps around and I've been all over bc),,,repairs don't bother me if I have eneogh fun to justify it.

But yeh I'll probably just wait till january to go in there...:(

i think onion and humminbird are a little higher than that. nordegg maybe, thinking onion riding area 7500 ft +

sugar bowl closer to 8000 i may be wrong going from memory, only problem area lacks snow for the last few years.

very good riding area when we have snow. boundary is also good as trees hold snow.

Came back from Revy throught the parkway. There was some snow at Sask. Crossing halfway through Abraham Lake pushing snow with the bumpers, alittle less when we got to Bighorn. Made for a long drive home.

Pretty sure it gets alot higher than that,, 8000 or 9000feet id guess and there
is some Black diamond stuff back there, when there is snow, believe me,,,
that elevation is probably at the lake once you get back into the hills its probably way higher.
A kid was killed back there in a avalanche in 97 i think, and i,ve seen plenty
of avalanches back there too,,,its no joke if its gets snow.and wicked big hills...

August Onion lake (at the lake,,you go way back into the hills on a sled...)(41miles is just the trail in.....)

Know where ram falls is?? head north past the airport about a mile take your
first left and its about 30 or 40 miles down a trail,,,finding the alpine can be tricky if you dont know where you're going...it is one of a few designated Random snowmobile areas out in the area... You can get a map from the ASRD
There is closed areas that are well marked,,,stay out of those areas:beer:

(south of nordegg)
