Hey guys do you know how to make some still images off of your vid? im sure there is a way but the programs i have do not say they do it does the Sony program offer this option? i know the helmet cam has the option either vid or pics but i just want to get a few stills off the vid.

Yes you can with most movie making software, you can split the video and add pictures,I ussually take a pictire of everyone in the group and start or end the video with them,You just have to add them to the timeline, you can easily add them to any part of the video and edit them with text or transitions.Take my word for it,you are about to put in endless hours figuring it all out,the better the software the tougher it gets!

The X170HD takes pictures also. I haven't tried yet as at 5MP I'm not expectiong a lot but so far the video is exellent even at 130 on the MXZ. Have a video of the kids in the canoe out in the field with the paddles out rowing away from weekend. Going about 30KPH behind the old Phazer! Will post when I figure it out. Have had no issues other than battery life even with the long lifer Santa bought. I would say good bang for your buck so far.

I just picked up 2 of the Drift X170 cams. Im having a heck of a time figuring it out. Went for a ride and it only recorded about 30 seconds and it was over. Been sitting here now for an hour, trying to figure the stupid thing out. To me, the pamphlet in the box lacks enough info. Can anyone give me a hand or explain it to me? Need to know what video ratio to use. What aspect to use. ECT... One cam has a 16 GB card, the other has a 4 GB card. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. :d

still no ringing here

Thanks FossY. I appreciate the walk through on the camera. Im going back out next weekend. I will post what I create. Im famous for flying off and landing on my head, so if that happens (which I hope doesnt...LOL) might have some cool action footage. As long as I dont bust it..... Thanks again. :d

i love this helmet cam! we went out today and i was very happy with image quality.
but i had one problem and that is that the sound is about 15sec faster then the video has anyone had this happen?
does anyone know how to fix it?
what file type do you use it has 3 and i am not sure what will work the best MJPG,AVI, or MOV? would one of these file types fix the sound/video sync?
I have e-mailed the company with my questions but thought i might get faster help here...thanks in advance!

Avoid the .AVI file if you can. The .mov file or the jpeg file would be better. Do you have the HD version???
