Came across a couple today while the wife and I were out quading this afternoon. We had a short BS with them and parted ways. A couple of hours later after we had loaded up we had heard ambulances in the area so we took a drive to where they had staged and sure enough that is where they had went. Turned our they had went down a big hill (never should of attempted that hill at their experience level) and lost control. 1 fatality and one person in the hospital. WEAR YOUR HELMETS!!!! They are made for a reason. And play safe.

I think to early as well. Gonna catch the 11 Edmonton news. I have never seen that before and it's a lot to take in. Wish it could of ended better.
Makes me grateful that Kelly and I are safe. It could happen to anyone. It's different once you have a conversation and talk to them alive and well and within hours this happens. Could of happened any time we are out west an have a bs with another group.

I unfortunately was there and seen the fatality and Kelly was at the scene of the accident. He had to escort a RCMP officer in to the accident as it was very remote and we knew the area very well and knew where it would of likely took place.

If you are referring to Global News (Edmonton), they are becoming are really getting bad with their reporting...kind of becoming a waste time to watch.

Just basing on sunday night 11:00 pm newscast on Global:

1) Quad accident was mentioned but no fatality as reported here on S&M

2) Motorcycle crash on groat road...Global reports man in hospital but yet the journal reports 2 hour earlier that the man has died.....

3) Pedistrian Hit & Run near Smoky Lake....Global reports of the accident but nothing about the victims brother being charged with "hit & run" / leaving the scene of an accident...the journal had that on-line over 3 hours previous and Global fails to report any thing new....CFRN at 11:30 had all the details but Global just repeated their 6:00 news cast.....just about had it with watching Global Edmonton news....

rant over

People in the camp next to us on the September long weekend had a fatality.
Drunk booze cruse at 4am, passenger didn't have a helmate and driver did. Driver lost control and they went into the bush at about 90km/h.
Can am quad pitched the driver really fast, threw the passenger forward and the quad landed on his head... I saw a piece of brain on the rim of the tire, and a chunk of skull stuck in the front bush guard.
And sure enough, beer cans all near the crash scene.

WEAR A HELMATE AND DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

Cop that was there talking to us said it only takes one person to ruin everyone's fun.
Meaning they are thinking about having patrols out there checking insurance and reggy, booze limits and everything.
Smarten up people? How about that?

There have been far too many quad related fatalities this year. People just aren't getting the point.

Condolences to the family and all involved, let this serve as yet another reminder of how quickly things can and do go south on machinery, wear your helmets and other protective gear fellas
