2008 summit xp 163 tunnel bent

I have a 2008 summit x and the right rear corner on the tunnel is bent can a guy buy half a tunnel or do u have to replace whole thing ?

hate to give the bad news but you need to replace the whole thing. Been there and done that:rant:

track rubbing?

if it drives strait just leave it and ride.....

I straightened as best as possible track docent rub or anything it's more so cosmetic but I'm trying to sell and it turns off alot of people

Can you put a monster sticker over it? Covers any damage and adds 10hp.

Post a pic of the damaged area please

the tunnel is 2grand,, but its every bolt, rivet and nut on the sled,, 2 days labour


maybe some could do it in a day,,,,

yes you can get the serial number put back on if u wanted,, cost u at the registry I think,, the yamaha boys alwyas doing that with their aftermarket tunnels and $40G sleds they want a VIN number

I will vouch for that I changed one a couple years ago it is alot of bolts and rivets, if you havn't done it before it will most likely take you all of 2 days and some :beer:

changing the tunnel and changing the frame are two totaly seperate things.

changing the tunnel you can get one from mountain magic for about a grand and take the old one off yourself.

its still alot of rivets and whatnot but easier than changing the whole frame.

depending on the damage you could look at an xp bumper kit which cuts out alot of the rear section and replaces it.

lets see the damage ill tell you if that will work for you

where do you cut it out? have you done one? I always bend mine from the front damn it.....

ya you drill out all the rivets around the brake/chaincase side area and then around the back plate on top of the front cooler where the carbs sit. slide out and slide new tunnel in.

of course there would be alot of F bombs dropped in that time.
