Put a new battery in the other day.( like I always doo ) as soon as I hooked it up the fan started running. ( with the key and stop/run switch both "off" ) so I started it and took it for a little ride. Seems to run ok but lcd display was flashing "HOT" and "check engine" right from startup. I'm going to check the temp sensor in the head and put some dielectric grease on the contacts... After that maybe set it on fire... Anyone have this happen on their unit? Tips?

Unplugging it didn't work. Contacts look fine. Grease on contacts plugged sensor back in. Fan still comes on... Tried hitting it a few times. No dice.

My father inlaw had the same issue on his 500ho. Apparently there are two temp sensors and it was the one you can't see that was giving the problem. I believe it's in or around the rad somewhere. The one on the engine that was fairly easy to access wasn't the problem.
