I'm doing the Toby Creek Powder X on Sunday, is this where I'll be riding and will it be worth the trip from Edmonton?
Probably the location, there may not be in your face pow but the scenery will be worth it. Forecast is calling for snow too.

Just a heads up for anybody that's thinking of heading to rocky point. The fsr has great snow until the trail head. But the first part of the trail is lots of ice. The switchbacks are all iced up and chewed down to the dirt in a lot of places. I made it up to the first switchback and turned around. I walked to the second switchback and it was ice as far as I could see. I am sure it's doable but be prepared for a lot of work. If you spin out there is no stopping. You will slide backward down the trail a long way. Not worth the hassle imo. Just thought I would save some people from wasting time.

Was at Forester on the weekend. The pic is on the glacier. Sunday was a blue bird day. The snow on the glacier is set but it's pretty good. The snow at the lakes is more set up from sun and wind. The parking lot is pretty bare but still a good patch of ice to unload on. The trail up was getting marginally deteriorated at the very start but the rest is in top condition, a little bumpy because they can't groom but that's a small problem right now. There is way less snow on the glacier compared to this time last year, as evidenced by some open crevasses. It's not a big problem but If it's cloudy and/or snowy just be careful.

Parking at the top of the first hill maybe even to the first cattle gate. Lots of sleds last weekend, not sure on trail conditions but would expect some bumps and rocks

They manage the area, have tenure and you have to go through private land to access. If they say it's closed respect their business.

Get fukd tenure to run their bizz not to keep the public out of Crown land. I accessed through private land with permission from the land owner. Just cause Toby grooms Logging rd after their property to accomidate their customers doesnt give them the right to shut out the public. I will post alternate routes in and will continue to ride there Panodude. Tobys not well liked by the neibours so is what it is.

The neighbor is a real special woman, really to bad you need to slam a company who has gone over and above for the sledding community in the valley Just so you could ride the smallest area in the valley.

did you drive your truck up The trail? This is why they have closed the access, they probably have their sleds staged at 3k and need the space Without other vehicles.

Lol Heli Springs is most likely where we will setup. Talked to Barb this morning. If Toby Tours harps off again about keeping peeps out the gate will get locked on Barbs property and their access into Paradice will be shut out. Get somethin straight Panodude I'm a Canadian tax payer so I will access any Crown land anybody lookin to keep me out is lookin to get their head swelled. Between the 3 of us in there the other day our personal income tax was 3.8 mil so the deep pockets thing aint a problem.

Went into paradise monday, trail is gravel/small snow patches for 4k's. After that trail is great. Toby's last day as per conversation. They were driving trucks up as I was coming down. Snow is decent on top for the conditons mother nature has tossed at us.

Now your chit talking Barb. Guess I can talk to Scott and Lori and get your name so I can come and have a face to face with ya next time I'm up that way. I'm pretty sure your tune will change once I confront you. You have no idea who I am or who I know. Heres a hint I was there when the ski hill started have a bunch of local friends and have had friends that own property at Panorama since it started. Your in over your head get out of the pool before you drown.

Not sure why the hostility towards me... was stating a fact its an expensive business.
Don't really care who you are, who you know or how much you make.
Again good luck in your venture

Does having tenure mean you can make money on the land or does it mean you have exclusive rights to using land?? Honest question. I do not know.
