One guy tagged a rock going up the trail and bent his steering rod. The rock was not very big but was frozen in to the ground. One guy tagged a rock going down hill. We were not going that fast but the rock had a lip to it that caught the A arm and pretty big ouch. Including it bent the the middle piece where the A-arm joins to and pushed everything back on the left side appx two inches. I was a little surprized the amount of damage as we were not moving the fast. I bent my left A arm close to the cabin along a row of trees where a tree had fallen over and just under the snow.

Nice to see the sleds out, but damn theres a lot of land mines! I'm thinking Dec 1st for first ride may be the best choice.

Rode Allen today. Old trail up consisted of dirt, rocks and glare ice, rode to the Super Bowl. Snow was fairly decent, I'd say 3 to 4 feet with a foot of powder in some places. Nobody wrecked. All in all a decent first ride. Will post pics later. iPhone ain't letting me.

Yes. Thanks guys for the update and the early season sacrifice to get this information out. A bank account should be setup for donations to those who have made the sacrifice for all of us...lol!

Drove the jeep to the top of fingers today, (cutblock) No snow. 1cm maybe. Allen has the most snow at this point by far. 2 weeks ago there was about a foot at salmon lake, (the lake, not the alpine) but thats gone now too.

just got back from the mountains yesterday and here is the facts: Allen Creek the snow seemed sketchy but just got better and better the further we went back(poached the very first tracks Friday till about one before we seen anybody else,so that was deadly) when I probed it there was a good 40 inches But that was only half way back to premier and like I said it just kept getting better.HOWEVER....The trail at this point is Horrible, bad enough I wouldn't bother going again until they get some more snow.Plus I just blew a good portion of the ol' budget so my sled could go for a chopper ride sunday afternoon! Blue river is in a worse situation....Drove up to Fin all the way to KM 14. It went from bone dry to about maybe 14" at the most. we did unload and drove as far as we could but it just didn't get any deeper so there we'll play the waiting game as well.... Let it snow

Went into Chappell today, around 1-2cm's of snow covering the ice and rocks on the trail. 20-25cm's in treeline and 70-80cm's in the alpine, only 2" on the lake. Made the complete loop stopped and probed over 10 areas in the alpine and same depth everywhere up their.

THANKS for the update alot of people wanting to know.

what happened to your sled?

I don't know what happened to it.. I was half way into a pull and it just up and died....couldn't figure anything out as to why it has no spark. The only "Luck" I had was there was another sled that twisted his drive shaft off so we saved some scratch flying out two sleds instead of just one.

image.jpg Made it up the old trail to Allen creek yesterday. It took a lot of pulling and tugging to get up the old trail. Even when we met up with the new trail up top it was icy in spots. Snow was a lot lower than this time last year but rideable. Unless your up for a rocky icy trail I would say wait for some more snow.
