Re:The type of people that say"oil is oil"
I have been doing alot of reading lately about 2 stroke oil's and the standards that they are supposed to live up to.I have read thread after thread about guy's asking for advice on this topic. The thing that blows my mind the most,is most of the people that don't have the slightest clue of what they are talking about are giving their advice in thesethreads.(API,JAYCO and ISO) have not tested or passed most of the oil's that are mostly recommended on these threads.IMO.if you aren't an experienced engine builder you should read and learn before you give advice. HCS. Had a 57 page thread recently on this topic.I read it from start to finish and was amazed at all of the "haters" that ruined the whole thing. As consumers we all are pretty much clueless as to the quality of the products we are buying.I don't understand why all of these oil's are allowed to be on the shelves of retail outlets when they haven't passed anyone'stest's except the guys that made it. I need alot more education before I decide what oil's to permanently use in my 2 sleds, but alot of advice givers need alot more education as well.
