how is it that you can have a wood stove that close to combustible we had to put stone or tile around ours rules must be different in sask.

They gave me dimensions from all sides and I extended a bit further. Took pics and they were OK with it. That was probably 20 years ago.

Depends on the built-in heat shields of the stove and the chimney clearance(s). WETT inspections are the requirement that insurance companies and building permits ask for. When I sold my house in Elkford, I had a real pita of an inspector. My stoves were all inspected and certified upon installation but after 20 years of using them this guy decided he would make me make some changes.
