In Nov 2020 Stojans Power Sports and Marine in Grande Prairie gifted me with a 2021, 850 summit 165 in. for my 80th birthday. No doubt I was shocked. It was in recognition for my passion of mountain sledding and contributions to the sport over the last 21 years, and also being brand loyal.
My wife and I sartded moutain riding in1998, retired from work in 2001, then was serious riding with a new sled every year since. Had a camp in Red Deer Falls, southeast of Tumler Ridge. In 2002 put 13000 km on my sled exploring and group riding well into june.
Today mostly ride Kakwa ,some in Red Deer Falls, haven't been to Blue River or McBride since 2019.
For those that wonder what it's like at my age it's still great, go every weekend, two days is my limit. Very lucky I still have my health. Put on 3500 per season. Lost lot of strength, stamina and agility. 2020 was the last year my wife road, she had shoulder surgury in sept, says probably no riding till next year. Having camp in Kakwa makes it much easier.
Have many great friends I ride with, they look out for me but don't give me a bunch of special breaks. At times I stuggle a bit going up narrow creeks and chutes in deep powder, as my reaction time is slower and move slower. Meadows, trees and climbing not too much of a problem. When I get stuck that's when lots of help shows up.
Enjoy most of the posts on S and M but not all of them!!

Am I the only one who thought the title had something to do with what doesn't stay in Vegas?

That is awesome. My dad is 75 but doesn’t go to the mountains anymore but got him out the other day on the farm. Was hard for him to stop going to the mountains he loved it so much.
