I wish her well. Probably be like the old lady that was waiting at a red light and a rusty old light standard fell over on top of her car and crushed it. No one hit it...... it just fell over. She ended up going to the troubleshooter or whatever on the news but I am finding nothing saying she got anything. Pot holes would even be worse as they will just claim driver negligence for hitting it.

These municipalities have lost sight of their true responsibilities. Infrastructure and maintenance. Brutal. It's going to get way worse before it gets better on this weather. Nothing you can do right now but watch it get worse. But they better be hitting it hard come summer time.

Don't get me started on the terrible job of keeping the lines painted on streets.

I blew out a tire & rim today on argyle around 72 st.... put the dummy tire on and it lasted 300m before a pothole took it out too...not shittin

Had to get my summer rims/tires brought into the city to get the car going again...was a 6 hour ordeal...

I got pictures of the crater that swallowd my wheel and pics of the damage, I'll submit a claim but am not holding my breath...

I used to be a suspension/front end/ specialist. In my 15 years of alignments, you wouldn't believe the damage I've seen from potholes. Remember when the city used to cut asphalt and just leave that abrupt 3-4" wall? At least now they ramp it up slightly with cold mix.

This summer is going to be brutal on the motorcycle.

This winter was brutal to the roads, lots of freeze thaw cycles.
Very hard to keep up with this years crop of pot holes.
not much time to kick back the windrows between snow falls,
which help cause the pot holes.
Try to stay out off the curb lanes where most the pot holes are.

Driving in Edmonton boggles my mind. Out here in the little big town of Drayton Valley, our streets have been scraped down to pavement at least 4 times this winter (and I'm talking about the residential streets. All the main streets get cleaned once or twice a snowfall). Heck, our back alley was even bladed once. We do not have a pothole problem. Oh, we get them, but not in any extreme and they are quickly taken care of in the spring. The town also appears to have a long-term paving program for repaving old or worn residential streets, although I'm just guessing on that because I see resurfacing done every year on various streets. I have nothing but good to say about our town's maintenance program.

So the question is, how can our little town afford regular maintenance like that? Probably because it's way less expensive to do maintenance than it is to repair stupidity...
