I’ve been a die hard sled head for over 20 years, I prioritize sledding and go out every storm. I dream about winter all summer and count down to the first early season ride. This season has been so brutal and so frustrating I’m finding myself dreaming of days on the lake and riding dirt bikes and for the first time in my life contemplating taking a season off to travel instead of chasing pow next year. Anyone else getting to this level of frustration with this season?

Yep. I sacrificed everything to be a Sledder. I’ve seen bad winters, but not like this. Could book an Airbnb for a month or two in Mexico for what Id save on not sledding. And still have lots left.

Yes I read it, did you read mine? That El Niño lasted two sled seasons
2014/2015 is one sled season, 2015/2016is another. Just like this El Niño is the 2023/2024 season but it’s a lot bigger.

Yep and it says nothing about total snow pack, it says 2015-16 was a stronger el Nino.
Your stellar trip was Dec 2016 which would have been winter of 2016-17.
And I agree this is one of the worst seasons I've seen since moving to BC in 2004.

That’s some of the reason I don’t sled. Was too much hassle. Wasn’t in a position where I could chase the storms. So always sledded when we could we the crowds. And living in Leduc and travelling to the mountains was a hassle. Was getting old doing it all the time. But I sure do miss the fresh deep snow days!

Blue lake was definitely better as amount of snow

But it was still hard as a rock

Having said that , next few weeks will tell

It's the access that's the worse part

One day a guy is jumping into the snow and it is up to his armpits and the next day a guy is walking on cock hard snow that is 10” deep. Tough keeping up or believing conditions.

There are some places that had 140-150 cm of snow and got at least 25 cm new over the last couple days. It will need more but will be rideable. Keep in mind March is our snowiest month normally.
Yeah but they got 20-40mm of rain in between lol
