Is it just me or are these Doos losing rpm in heavy pulls .
I can hear them losing RPM and can only catch the tack from time to time and shows low ?
Just seems like room for improvements. As usual I guess .

I would think there are some mighty hot clutches On either brand with how hard he’s riding them. And you know he’s up on his servicing when it’s broke then you fix it

Doo's have been doing this for years. It was much worse a decade ago in 800.
Couple of things going on.
They pull timing when hot. Ambient air temp affects this too.
Poor backshift with hot clutches. Again exacerbated by warm temps and heavy snow.

Oh I know and a good thing for the wind induction .

Also as belts start to gets some miles on them i started noticing rev fade so would usually swap belts this was really noticable on the xms

The gen5 turbo is pretty good. If you run your belt past its life span and don’t adjust the deflection every couple rides you will get some fade on the top in heavy snow

100%
I remember the old 391 belt. Doo published the specs including a service limit on the width. I'd usually hit that at around 3000km. Slapping on a new one one would be an instant 2-300 rpm gain and better consistency.

so whos keeping track of what sleds matt has? i thought he always got two new ones every season.

Why isn’t the so called sensor on the drive system protecting the belt ?
Was a big selling gimmick so no more blown belt.

The sensor is there to tell you what the ambient air temp of belt compartment is. It could be alarming people aren’t noticing perhaps? It will show up in the buds report.l regardless. People taping the throttle to the bars in headlight deep pow with 70mph track speed on a 146 turbo no alarm is going to protect that belt

i wouldn't want the sled to limp in a belt overheat situation. I will decide if i want to destroy my 300$ belt.

Its up to the operator to watch their temps, the sensor is just a tool in the toolbox. That being said, you can blow a belt and not be in belt heat alarm. Things happen

Careful what you say. I got in trouble for saying “sometimes chit happens” in another thread. There is a reason for everything. Trust me. 😂

I asked that as well. He still has the 165 G5, so looks like he has 5 sleds out west in Revy.

Could the 146"s shift out fully (due to gearing) when they are doing all their flips and what not causing the belt to bottom out in the secondary, thus ruining the belt?
