I'm only using cash now, will leave enough in my account for mortgage and bills each Month. The rest of my money is going in the safe.
No more debit card, no more e-transfer.
As long as your cash is not canadian dollars, gold, silver or canadiantire money is fine.

A farmer I know down by Brooks said two locals he knows had cops come into their homes and take their guns, no warrant and were told it was because of their involvement with the trucker convoy

I believe you and that sucks. But friend of a friend scenario i take with a grain of salt.

Ya we talked with him last night, he’s like a 70+ year old man and not exactly a social media watcher follower to current events so really has no reason to lie, it just came up in conversation during a work matter. Two other local farmers he knows and happened to run into them both at a farm supply store Monday afternoon. They both donated a bunch of money to the cause I guess and spent some time down at the border

Just to get back to the subject of bank freezing accounts…. I do think a banks discretion comes into play, I’m sure if they wanted, they can ask questions or add process to delay freezing someone’s account. It is clear TD did not and bent right over to government demands.

Someone must know somebody with a frozen account, go out there and ask them which bank they are with. I believe any bank in Canada can be ordered to freeze an account so I don’t think any are truely safe. I want to be with a bank that doesn’t just bend over immediately to the government. I have a feeling any bank that went offline on Feb 16th is a sign that they changed something in their system: TD, RBC, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank.

Can you elaborate on the "went offline" part? Did they close the doors? Shut down computers? What did they physically do?
