The boy did start a good thread here.

Absolutely he did!! And if I wasnt so darn distracted by his ongoing references to Jesus I would have been able to assist in keeping it on track...

I think until all that crap stops, we have a problem...

It was a great topic, and one that deserves attention, but honestly the way I see it, Joey is to blame for taking off the rez...

Hopefully he will begin to realize that if he can stop preachin then we can actually have normal on-topic conversations with him...Until then...Well, this thread is a perfect example of what happens...

Bottom line is, that he is 16, and the majority of us aren't anymore. This thread could have been just left as is, without any other kinds of bantering from anyone. If he wanted to preach in here, and most don't want to hear it. Why come in here to stir the pot???

I have only one answer...I could make all kinds of stuff up but the truth is simple...I am sick and tired of his preaching...He has given his word to me (I have the proof) countless times that the preaching will stop. I have invested many, many hours trying to talk some sense into him, and again he has agreed the preaching has to stop...I did warn him that I would no longer be able to stick up for him if he reverted back to preaching and here we are...

Since I have personally invested so much time in this project, consider the stirring as ROI for my time...

I think a little return on my investment is warranted...All he has to do is stop and I have nothing in the pot to stir...seems simple to me!

Yea, that sucks, but as much as you want to you cant help everyone...Keep being nice to him and visiting when you can (without getting in trouble), as it probably makes his day...

Im sure thats why he comes there every day, to hear some friendly people...

And honestly its not your job to do anything for him financially...some kind words likely carry more value to him.

it breaks my heart to hear him say those words "i'll try" when he leaves..........like seriously how hard is it to hold a door , say hello and make conversation? just make him feel wanted and not like hes in the way.....people laugh in his face when he fumbles with his change and stuff i just role my eyes at them and help him in any way i can......never done anything to anybody but yet hes treated like chit.........shameful , makes me sick to be in the same species as those people.

This is where Canada, as a cultural mixing pot, could really take a page out of the Asian culture. The Japanese put there elderly on a pedestal, and are treated with the utmost respect. The elderly are sought after for there wisdom, and words of life expieriance.
Our First Nations people treat their elders with alot of respect as well, but I don't believe it's to the same level as Asians.
