I got mine done winter of 1999 in Edmonton. Went sledding later that same week. That trip was a pain in the ass as I had to put eye drops in continually as the eyes were very dry from the surgery, stopped many times on the trail up in Valemont, i had better luck with the gel eye drops. After...
A 2.5 inch is a direct swap from stock track. Just order from trackscanada and install yourself. Sell your stock track and you have by far the best mod for the buck on that chassis period. Dial in clutching and it is way better than an equivalent stocker. 3 inch also works but a bit more...
I would like doo to just give us a mod friendly motor and chassis. Something like an 800 two stroke with quiet scavenging exhaust that could be replaced easily, heavy in stock form yet meets requirements. large can, tweakable and tunable computer , tunnel clearance for 2.5 or 3 inch...
I've got a few XP mountain kits left, new in the box. $300 all inclusive price each. Also have some sets of DJ's mountain ramps if anyone needs those as well. Email me at brad.cadieux@shaw.ca since I don't check the forums too often. I would be willing to do a package price if you take more...
I have two of these take off tracks for sale. Both low milers, one has some nicks on outside paddles from hitting rivet/bolt heads, other one has no wear on it at all. No paddles missing. These are ported tracks that came off stock skidoo XP 163 summits. They are extremely light for their...
I don't doubt you may have seen a change in track speed, however it could not be from a minor regearing. Remember that this is a cvt and not a gearbox, any gear change and the clutches adjust for it, so gearing up like you did will just put belt lower in primary and higher in secondary as well...
There's many places that do it. In calgary I use Topgun powder coating, just google the number. Should be a closer place for you though. I did my front a-arms, steering rods, spindles and a few other items in gloss black powder. Holds up and cleans so well. It was around $20 for each larger...
Bet you had detonation issues. A buddy had his set up similarily and couldn't just stop the detonating at 50% VP111 in fresh premium, we unload at Golden/Revy around 2000 feet. Once in the alpine it was fine. His was 14:1 head though, not sure on yours. The 14:1 head by itself is not too bad...
Nice to see some extra side clearance with that track. It will wildly outperform the stock track. A few of my buddies are running it and amazing results.
You want top of belt to be above the clutch shives, so that the valleys of the grooves in the belt are level to the clutch. But all belts are different lengths so Be carefull, when you get the belt this tight you could have a runaway, test it with a hand on the brake when you start it.
Track...
Sorry Rudy I didn't answer your Q directly, yes huge difference in reduced steering effort. At least 30% easier for me now. I only have 3 days in mtns on these so far this year. I did not notice any diff in turn angle ability, although it does reduce it somewhat. Heading to Golden this...
Teth, I also run my skiis on narrow simmons setting and she lays over coming down hill very easily. I don't want any narrower, since I'm running custom valving and spring in front, it's perfect now that I've taken the heavy steering issue out of it with your spacers. I'm at about the same...
I only ride mtns (only ride trail to get to alpine), remarkably easier on shoulders and arms. Thx Teth for the pic, that's exactly what I did, but I also cut off the tip of the aluminum piece for a more finished look (looks are a big thing for me)....hell I pull my engine to clean underneath:o
I love grooming, makes an hour bumpy trip into 15 minutes of fun. I agree should be posted somewhere accurately (break downs being unforeseen) as I choose my riding usually on grooming cause I'm getting older....did I say that out loud...ouch.
Costs a lot more than that to run a groomer. A capable used one costs around $250K for decent condition so just the payment alone is about $400/operating day +operator+service truck+transport truck+fuel+BC insurance+huge maintenance = big bucks to operate plus owner/operator needs to make a...
I run a set on mine. I added simmons skis and my 08 was a bear to turn with the simmons and my shock set up (custom valves and sprung stock shocks). These spacers were quick to add onto the sled and did not have to re-align skis or anything, just a bolt on deal. My steering is now easier than...
My method for the tough ones is as stated in the above posts. Grease puller threads lightly and tip to allieviate and thread friction, tighten puller up really tight, poor boiling water on the shaft. I use 90 ft/lbs max on others peoples sleds, I just tighten it really tight on my own...
My prediction is the DJ kit will outperform the Team. Plus all you have to do to DJ's kit is start with his recommended weight and you might need to tune it from there, but most guys don't have too. With the Team you can try weights, different helix cuts, secondary springs to get it dialed...
