Check the Union halls. There are lots of open calls I believe.

that a negative.....i'm in Pipefitters Union 488.Calls for welders is pretty hard but a few do pop up.If your a "B" welder is tig you'd have a job no problem with 488......Plus it's getting to the slow time right now and some companies are starting to layoff and cut back shift to 4-10's...If your looking for more info on 488 send me a PM and i can give you a name of a guy that might beable to help you out,or i can talk to my Gen. Foreman

Do you have CWB in all positions?
Check Boilermakers 146,Electricians 424 and IW 720

Position Summary


A challenging opportunity exists in Fort Saskatchewan for Journeyman Welder.

Profile: Reporting to the Supervisor, Fabrication Services, the Welder will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of equipment and machinery in the nickel, cobalt, leach, utilities and fertilizer plants. This position will involve working on stainless steel and carbon steel pressure piping as well as pressure and non pressure tanks, vessels and exchangers in the field and in the welding shop.

Candidates who demonstrate strong work ethic, proven attendance track record, positive attitude, technical/mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting capabilities and safety conscious work ethic are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

•Journeyman Welder Certification
•Interprovincial Red Seal
•"B" Pressure Welding Certificate
•Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel & Tig Certifications
•5 years industrial experience
•Shutdown/Start-up Coverage
•Ability to work regular/periodic shift work
•Adhere to after hours call out procedures
•Ability to work in a team environment

Doubt you'll get anything from the iron workers....lotsa members on the books, maybe Fort Crack with IW 720
