Super Clamps Legal or Not ?

after a few too many beers with a friend in his garage we got too looking at his superclamps . They are marked "off road use only"

we could not figure that out as they are always used on trailers and decks that are hauled on road

I,m dont feel so good using a product where the manufacturer needs a legal out in case of failure !

anyone know ?
