I’m probably one of the very few that has little to no problems with xplornet. However tho I have direct line of sight to the tower that is approx 3/4 mile away. Starlink here at work but they have us throttled back
I wasn't having issues for the longest time but lately it's been bad again, and at "non-peak" times of the day. I finally had enough

You won't regret it. They did some kind of update and we're seeing 200 MBPS consistently now.

With starlink?

I was doing 100+. Moved my dishy to a higher spot, hit 150 a couple times and now I'm lucky to get 50.

Speeds depend on the area you are in, west of Edmonton you get much lower speeds than us in northern Alberta because there is simply more people using the same satellite.

That's right, got it in Feb '22 after two years on the pending service list. When we first fired it up it was hitting 200 then over the last year kind of bounced around from 50-150. Now it's smokin along pretty good

This is at 9pm on Monday. 2 feet infront of the mesh router. Speed has dropped an incredible amount this week

I'm assuming you have the Starlink App, what does it say? If you run a speedtest with the app it will confirm the satellite to router speed, and router to device speed to confirm where the bottleneck is.

Some of those speedtest values seem abnormally high to me.

That’s what drives me up the wall. If I’m paying for 10 I better be getting 10 all day everyday. None of this 3 bs after supper and on weekends. Been with starlink for 1.5-2 years. Is it’s great.

I read somewhere it’s not the satellites it’s the ground towers. If there’s any truth to that idk. We used to rock 200 but now are 50-80 which is still dang good

Yes i believe that is correct. I dont think there are ground nodes in canada, only in the US. Majority of western canada goes through nodes in seattle area. Atleast it was months back when i was looking at mine.

mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow, will have to figure out where to mount it and run the wire into the house, looking forward to testing it out.

Depends on which number your looking at, the Starlink value seems to match what I get on other sites like speedtest.net. the WiFi speed is only for diagnostics, otherwise it's meaningless.

are you all just using the Starlink Router, or has anyone paired it with a different style of router?
