you would need a new rotor for an '09 shortblock, the stub on the mag side is a larger diameter. pto side is the same stub as previous and later years of ptek

Damit. So im stuck putting 3Gs into a 5G sled just to ride another ticking time bomb.
Depends on the crank, if it's a new updated crank

If it's a cv tech, good luck

I have very bad luck two years in a row with them

Mots, Tom is a awsome guy, knows his chit

Surprised he would use a c.v tech one...

He told me he only used doo cranks, that was a few years back mind u

I've been using CV Tech cranks, short blocks, cylinder relating for almost 14 years and have never had an issue. Use their stuff in sleds and water craft. Always easy to deal with too.

Give the guys at recreational power sports a call, they had better pricing compared to anywhere else I looked last year

Did you also make sure to replace the motor mounts? They don't last more than 2000k.

Whatever cable they list for the 08/09 is the current updated cable.

I did a new short block in my (now sold so it was a double ouch) 09. It made the most sense but make sure you do the mounts and refresh the clutches or all you are doing is putting a new motor and going to wear it out quicker.

Just picked up a rebuild kit for the primary. What should I look for on the mounts?

The round damper mounts are likely torn. When you push on them they shouldn't move easily.

Was it an updated block with the new primary bolt and the larger y pipe bolts?

Ill have to check on the block. Should I change all 4 motor mounts or just the pto side?

I would change them all. It's protection for your investment but if only doing two do the small ones. Should be a part number that ends in 387. Those ones wear the worst.

Also check the three bolts on the front pto side stopper support. Those small bolts can break. If you look at the parts fiche its support #26 on the engine page. Every XP I have seen has at least one of those bolts broken.
