So if I was going to order a new 2018 F150 with the 3.0 Powerstroke, can I put a deck with two sleds on it? :ignore:

Of course you could. Would you like it or would it meet your demands? Would it be Tex approved? Just a few questions for you to ponder.

I actually can't stand driving our F150's all day at work. But given there is a F150 package that has enough payload to currently do such, if the little 3.0 powerstroke isn't too much heavier I think it could be a nice option for a lot of guys who don't want a HD daily driver.

I'm guessing it is going to add a lot of weight to the truck, and leave it with not enough payload to do a deck and two sleds.

If I carry 2 sleds on my Tacoma, I don't see it would much of an issue for the new f150!

The 2.8 Duramax comes in around 500lbs dressed. The 3.5 Ecoboost around 450 dressed I would guess the 3.0 power stroke is in the 550lb range based on comparable V6 diesels. So it likely won't cut into it too far.

GM just needs to step up with their V6 Duramax in their 1500's now

If the deck weighs 300 lbs, 2 sleds at 600 each, you and your pal's carcasses, 200 each, 100 each in gear 100 in gas, should put you 2200 to 2500 pounds. The gas powered Fords can haul 3000 or so, a bit less for a diesel. You should be fine. 2500 is over for most 3/4 tons too.

Just thinking... probably another 50lb in DEF tank / heater / pump / gauge?
