i don't get it... it's not a work truck... its my family truck... the wife (says) she idle's it with remote start so it set to 10 minutes max... we drive and get a good average but then I go to that computer display thing ( still learning the truck) and history shows crappy fuel?????? If someone would have told me that I wouldn't have bought it!!! 22-24/per 100 km is crap in my opinion... anyone else eco or 5.0 experience or know what I am talking about?

I know I know... I will hand calculate it... funny that my window sticker did not give a fuel rating??? I should have thought about that... it's very new under 4000k

Bad fuel economy isn't that bad compared to my sisters 5.0L "problem".

This thanksgiving she was pulling her holiday trailer to Rolling Hills from Benalto. She'd just got an oil change at a central area ford dealer(not sure i should say which one.) Anyways, she gets about 10 miles from red deer and her oil pressure drops to nothing then she hears a bang and the truck dies. She looked underneath and the oil filter and drain plug were both dripping oil. Neither had been tightened. Ford had to replace the motor, pay for towing of the trailer and truck.

I agree, you have to reset it if you want an accurate reading. It will calculate from the last time you reset it, and if you do lots of starts and stops, it will show chitty economy.

Plus we live in Canada, so Miles per gallon would be kinda useless. We drive in metric, buy our fuel in metric.....just have to get used to it. It's not that tough.
I find my economy meter accuracy within 0.5L/100km.

So I have an 2012 echoboost and as it stands today it's doing 23avg/ 100km. My old f350 was doing 17 what is going on with this and I do not tow or carry any weight. I know some with a new 3500 and thats getting 20.

When they test fuel consuption the EPA tests at sea level indoors @ 75 F at 70 km per /hr . I have 2012 FX4 6.5 ft box with tow 3.73

My Eco gets 22-24 L/100km pulling my 27 foot enclosed filled with sleds and gear. 14-15 city and 11-13 highway empty. Something is wrong with the OP's truck.

my cousin has one as well and he is pi$$ed about the milage and has been given the go around with Ford after complaining several times. I guess 2 of his buddies are also not happy so they got together and made a complaint directly to Ford. I dont think they received a reply yet.

sitting in your driveway and resetting the avg. L/100 will give you a reading of 99/100 because you are not moving. if you want to see what kinda economy it gets on the highway take it out set the cruise at 100 or 110 reset L/100 try driving as long as you can with cruise then see what it says. it is really amazing how much even a little idling will throw out your mileage a lot. reset it often and play with it then you see what kinda mileage your getting at certain speeds and certain conditions I know of 3 that are getting around 12-14 on the highway not sitting in the driveway warming up. my 6.2 will get around 16-18 highway but start it with the remote and let it idle till its warm a few times and avg. will go up to 25-28 idling takes a lot of fuel for the miles your putting on think about how far you can drive in the 15-20 mins your truck warms up

Just took back my rental 2013 Ford Fusion Platinum Ecoboost with the 2.5L. So now over 2x 5day rentals I've averaged 13.0 L/100km. This is in lower mainland BC, so termpatures from 0 to +10 C, no snow. That is mind-bogglingly horrid. And I use the gas pedal like an old lady. I love the idea and the technology and the rest of the car, but something is going on with these Ecoboosts.

23l/100km sounds brutal even on the lieo meter on the dash for an ecoboost.
My 2009 6.8 l v10 superduty says that even with all of the winter idling and hauling sleds on the deck
