Its not a horse, doesnt appear to be any top teeth.

You kinda live out in make your own fun country huh sleddermom?

Good point Scotts..
no front top teeth..
its hard to tell from the pick
but a cow has a much wider skull than other animals...
being a wider skull would be a dead give away !
the bottom jaw fits for a cow, built for all the chewing..

Now that I am looking at the two skulls side by side.
I don't think its a horse anymore.
It does not have the ridge line under the eye socket like the horse does.
The only reason I thought it might have been a horse is because of the longer snout.
But along side the horse skull it is not that long.
plus behind the eye socket looks totally different.
the bone above the nose socket is also different.
I wanna drive up there now myself so I can see the skull in person..
I have always been intregued with that sort of stuff..

All the pic's of the horses do have that distinctive hole in the scull
on the side of the snout ??
And that hole from what I can see is not visable on the mystery skull.

Not a pic. of something dead but real sure something was dead after this attack. Found it along the ridge on Frisby, we figured it was an eagle or hawk getting a rabbit.

Thats a pretty cool pic, my dad showed me that same type of marks in the snow years ago when i was a kid. It was where a owl had got a bush rabbit.

Looks like an owl was making snow angels! Definitly making an angel out of the wabbit. My lovely wife found some owl poo at the base of a tree, 'can't remember what the poo is called when it comes from a raptor?' Mice bones and fur in akinda cocoon of poo.
