Biggest problem is you are supposed to look where you want to go but when there's a tree in your path it's hard not to look at it, then you do go where your looking...at the tree:oops:

Trees are quick. I've never met anyone who's seen one move, but I've met lots of people that have been hit by them. See pics in previous posts to this thread for example.

They lure you in then they smack you with a branch or jump right out in front of you! No hugs from me!

deep snow + lots of power + tree's = challenging riding, espically when you have to bail out of a failed climb. I've had hit trees to stop my sled form even worse damage, out here in the mountians we also have cliffs, they will kill your sled even worse :):)

And sometimes the tree limbs go out aways under the snow and your track can get into them.

this reminds me of when i was young i went to the hillclimb in valemount with my aunt and uncle, the trail/road up was really icy and there was this formula 3 with 2" plastic paddles on a 144-151" track, with a 90degree corner to get onto the icy climb posed problems for all the the plastic paddled climbers this guy really cranked on it, hit a big tree climbed what i think had to have 15-20 feet up the tree to then managed to turn out of the tree climb bounce off one or two more then landed back on the trail up above the worst of the ice. this was prob 15 years ago maybe a couple more than that, but i can still remember that purlpe sled blaze up that tree like it was yesterday.
