Has anyone gone in via the holmes River access this year instead of blackwater?

We talked with a group on Sat. that had been up thru the Holmes/ Chalco trail. Told us they made it to the bottom of the falls, but not into the alpine as the snow was just crazy deep. Said the willows were thick in a few places, but only had to stop a couple times to cut out some bigger ones, also had mention that the upper avys had come down across the trail but were easy to cross.
Might have to give it a try next weekend myself....

Well it snowed all day in town today, warmed up to -3 Weather report is calling for snow all week till next wednesday! Belle was groomed Monday night, Lucille was groomed Wednesday Night and Renshaw is being groomed tonight for tommorow morning. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! See you on the Hills!

Talked to Hotrod this morning and he had to unhook the drag again last night to get up thru the Renshaw chute. Another 2ft had fallen. He mentioned that in a little over a week there's been close to 5ft of snow that has fallen up Renshaw. Walking down 6 steps to the cabin now. Plus Lucille and Belle have been getting their fair share too!

not that I know of, I am thinking the willows would have been to much to fight. now might work as we have more snow.

We had to drop a broken sled down the water fall a few years ago and the willows were terrible. A mulcher would take care of them in a second but that would open a very viable trail into Renshaw without trail fees. Will never happen.

TONS of red tape involved to get something like that approved by BC Government. The cost would be tremendous, cause they would require environmental studies, avalanche assessments, safety plans, emergency services, and it goes on and on and on and on. We can't just go out there and mulch a bunch of willows. Much better off just to beat your way through the willows if you want to get in that way.

Hi All, truly enjoyed meeting Ruthless and Ron of Paradis Motor sports, I always enjoy meeting fellow Snow and Mudders!

Well we have had a few days of warmer weather however it is supposed to start cooling off tommorow and start snowing, currently Enviro Canada is predicting snow until next Wednesday starting tommorow!

I hope everyone has a great Week! Family Day is on Sunday Feb 20th, there will be no fee for trail passes after 10.30 up Lucille for Family Day.
