So here is a little food for thought. For the last 4-6 years I’ve noticed the whole GET OUT AND VOTE agenda. Really preaching to the younger generation. You know, every vote counts blah blah blah.

What were you thinking about when you were 18-19 years old? I can’t speak for you, but I wasn’t thinking about a government. I wasn’t thinking about a mortgage and bills. I wasn’t thinking about climate change. I remember the first time I voted I asked my parents who they voted for, then followed suit. Sure, social media plays a massive part in these elections, and like the news, there is lots of propaganda and bull**** getting spread around. I wasn’t in a position to understand the impact of voting. So, are voters too young? Does 19 year old billy know what’s best for his future. For his country and province? Does Sally know what an economic impact her vote can have? Remember, most are still driving under there parents insurance at this age.

Cheers

My main concern at 18 was tail and paying rent in that order.
If they have to pay taxes and can be sent off to war they get to vote.
Today's kids are way way more worldly, some can't tell bs from reality and unfortunately these are the most vocal.
Social media/interweb gives instant access to any question.
Everthing moves way faster now.
EVERYTHING would have to be bumped to 21 not just voting but I personally don't see need.

Here’s my crazy thoughts of the day. We should get prince Harry to be King of Canada. Our system is broken, go back to a monarchy. Totally dissolve parliament. Each province would send their Premier to figure this chit hole of a country out. Would save billions on useless government pensions. And if he sucks we storm his castle and cut his head off like in the old days. Except his wife she’s hot and Canadian. #KingHarry

Would it make sense to up the voting age? Who knows. What is the percentage that voted between 18-25? Did it make a difference on how you voted? Who knows.
Can you honestly say most adults between 25-65 vote for the future or vote for what they feel is more important which is “now”?
IMHO, if we move the voting age to say 21, we will only be “mothering” them more than what we do now. You just said Sally and Billy at age 21 are still on mommy and daddy’s insurance. They can get their own insurance. Mine has since 16. How else will they start to “adult” when we cuddle them and take away their “rights”.

hate to burst your bubbles, but they aren't ever going to raise the voting age. in fact the powers that be are talking about lowering it.

David suzuki want the voting age to be 8 years old.

I've always voted since i turned 18... My old man would watch the black & white tv and he would color his own map him, either blue/red/yellow or even the social credit green back in the day ;)

They already have mock elections in the school here and with the vast majority of teachers favouring the NDP you can see what road the younger generation will be taking 8072568A-DA14-4AC4-AE23-67337C5B57DF.jpeg

I sure wasn't thinking about politics until about 5 years ago. I voted every election like the rest of my family for Conservatives because we were happy with their governing. I have a neice from Edmonton that was asking for advice on who to vote for on Facebook. I told her who would make her uncles and grandfather proud. All her friends were telling her to vote ABC (anybody but Conservative) I saw her riding went Conservative so I sent her a public message on Facebook congratulating her on a great choice. Still no response and my wife is pizzed at me. Lmao!

Teachers pushed multigender and NDP socialism hard on my kids in school, oh ya that was Catholic school.
I had to fix that mess at home.
They are told money comes from the govt to pay for programs, never how the govt gets that money - oh ya debt is acceptable.
Every one of those teachers should be fired, some of the crap they came home with was crazy.
That is not why my kids were sent to a Catholic school - was expecting some old world values, was I ever a sucker.
WTF with them using the school system to push their agendas!!!!!
