Closing possibly the busiest sledding Mountain in BC would be a huge blow to the sport. Cant see it happening though, the Club has a million dollar warm up cabin up there.

Deactivating a road doesn't necessarily mean it becomes impassable. Might just water bar it in a few spots and pull a few culverts, depends how carried away they or the hoe operator get.

It will affect mountain bike downhill laps I think
Last sunday was showing a buddy around , stopped and had a brew in the lower lot at boulder

Couldn't believe how many came down with bikes, some had campers and all

It was like 30-40 vehicles in 10 min, plus the least amount of bikes was 2 per vehicle

I'm pretty sure the only people it's going to affect is the mountain bikers doing laps as they have an extensive network built up on the bezanson trail. These water bars are easily smoothed over in the first couple snowfalls with the groomer.

I can't imagine they will be deactivating Kirkup as the government just paid tons of cash to replace two bridges on that trail last summer.

Plus the snowmobile club has a "management agreement" with Forestry. I wonder if the Mountain bike fraternity does? Or is it a play on other activities the logging company has ongoing in the region?
I guess we will find out soon

Wouldn't this effect late spring access for sledders? You have to drive up pretty far in June.
