Medicine Lake or alder flats are about the two best areas around IMO. They are both within 10 minutes of each other on highway 22 south. Alder has lots of mud and good trails and most of the mud holes have bottoms so are doable with the right machine and rider.
Medicine lake has tons of trails and some mud. There is alot of skeg at Med Lake and alot of it is bottomless so you have to watch the holes you go into. Way more trails to choose from at Med lake though.

Head WEST on Highway 39 out of Leduc. Follow it until you get to highway 22, turn left(south) then follow until you see the signs. You will come to Alder flats first. If you want to go there turn right towards Alder falts, follow that road through town and keep going until you see a sign on the right hand side that says Rose Creek Recreation area, this is where most people stage.
To go to Med. Lake, keep going south on highway 22 about 10-15 minutes(approx.) from Alder flats and you will see a blue sign on the right that says Medicine Lake campground, turn left here. Go about 5-7km and on top of a hill you will see a fairly big open area on the left to stage at, or keep going another 4-5kms till you get to the huge open gravel pit area. Both places are good for staging.
To both places you are looking at 1-1.5 hours from Leduc depending on how you drive.
