I think that Blue River would Lose its " Uniqueness "

Call Me Crazy but I would Just like to Leave well enough alone !

I have only rid in one area in blue then went home got lost and really socked in, don't know the place but would like to get to know it, I just need some one to show me some good spots, and if that happens then who needs maps! But if there are people not willing to show you around, then yes maps, or go else where to ride. :d

I do like the idea of a map, but more for if i am going the right direction. Cause i dont want to get out of bounds and have the wilderness police after me! LOL. I think if there were km markers for the entrances to each area with distances up the hill to each area would also be great.

Some Sleds are in Miles...( Polaris )

The Signs are going to have to be " Extremely High " Due to the Amount of Snowfall the Higher You go !

Forget the signs too. Don't be cheap and pay Robin to take you out and then remember where you rode. Then go find your own area...if you get lost follow your tracks back to town and have a drink and figure out where you went wrong...lol

Buck your right Robin does know the area, if he can take you on a tour it will be well worth the money, and you gotta love that furry hat!!!

Haven't ridden blue river yet, but would like to give it a try. As for maps, I kinda have a mixed opinion about them. Nice to have a map with general boundrys and size of area, trail length etc., but then it gets really easy to have an area get overcrowded.

Anyway, would love to give it a try this year. How is it for accomadations, do you have to book rooms waaaay in advance??

The great thing is there are no boundaries....ride till you can't go any further or till you run out of fuel. As for the trail, it's more fun to just start going and then pick a clearing and see where you end up...this is where you won't find anyone else.

POW-WOW went up Finn Creek Road ( Ground Hog Mountain )....

He Probe it in the Alpine and it is.....4 Feet of Snow...with about a Foot of Powder.

Unloaded at 5 km. at the Snake.

Trail in there was good.

He only seen 5 other Sleds up there all day !

3 Guys made it to the Top where the Glass Lookout is !

Weather was Snowy / Overcast / Fog

sounds likes your place has changed lots sence the first time i stayed there.first time i stayed there was before your renos you had just opened. beds upstairs little bathroom downstairs and a talble and some chairs in the main room. was in once last year to find the hillbilies of our group who were staying there, lots nicer now but did't know about the meals. I will have come this year and stay there and check out the hot tub.

Myself and another guy spoke with pow wow on the hill, pretty awsome area, we had had a blast up there, we will be keeping the Holy Smoke Inn in mind for our next trip.
