BC Winter Rated Tire Legislation Question

Tire chains are to get you out of trouble or to a safe haven, not to keep you rippin down the hwy at a buck 10. Personally i would go with winter rated tires.. have a chain explode at 60km and tell me how much damage it does

Exactly, usually it is too late by the time you start wishing your chains were on.

I have been switching to winter tires that are studded & it is well worth the extra cost to know you have the proper tires. Even going up the logging roads in the spring are alot less skechty. Tire chains do also work great though.
