re: BC Floods & Restorations (formerly, Prayers needed)

i just spoke with my dad they stayed in there home last night the rain has stopped and the temps are suppoed to be lower this week which will help in the snow meltting too fast. people are being allowed back into swansea point today but local trafic only.
they are still on flood watch and are waiting for the back hoe to get into the creek and make it deeper again so the water level will go down and keep them out of danger.
2 mile waterways on hwy97a is still closed, i plan on heading out there firday if hwy1 is open by then.

Thats good. Sounds like its starting to turn around but it will be an awfully slow recovery. Thoughts and prayers go to the victims and their families.

Radar shows another heavy shower heading nnw over hunters range. Just talked to a trucker friend that left Calgary sat morn, stopped for a nap in the lot on west side of revulsion bridge. Woke up to a lot full of trucks, blocked in. Couldn't get out until 6 last night, took nakusp route across ferries. Just got into Vernon noon today. Big ferry line ups.

hwy 1 is now open. Have relatives here in Armstrong needing to get back home to Golden and just got news it is open. As for the weather, it is now raining yet again here. Been in Armstrong since 1994 and never seen so much rain this time of year. Monsoon like weather and very humid.

Just watched Global Calgary News, and amazing enough. There is still no reports of injuries or deaths, which everything else can be replaced. Don't get me wrong, I still feel sorry for all of those affect by the flooding. Especially those who are members and friends that I have met here.

right now in our area mara lake and the shuswap there have not been any which is amazing in its self after seening how bad it got.

some people are being let back in, my parents are staying as if they leave they are not allowed back in for fear of looting the poilce are escorting everyone in and out!
they are still under evacuation as the lake is expected to rise at least 6" in the next few days.
