Possibly a regulator problem or stator !

just seen 09 RMK do same thing, lights went dim and quit, regulator crapped but took ecu with it! The ecu was obvious as it was smoking.

changed dozens of regulators and ecm last year. lights went out gauges start flashing and in time engine stops. regulators were taking out ecm. found out if you change the regulator the ecm goes in about a week so change both. just my 2 cents.
