03 sportsman 500 starting issues

I'm guessing I just need my carb cleaned, but here's the issue.
It has a new battery a few months ago but if it's warm i can crank it over till the battery light comes on and it still wont start. put the charger on it, crank it over right away and fires right up. now when you touch the throttle it will want to bog out and die, until it warms up. When it's cold out same thing except i'm giving it full choke.

Yep. carb job, i suspect something in main jet and/or pilot or slightly plugging the openings.
Whats ur spark plug look like? Whats ur compression?

What should compression be? i'll have to check.

over 100psi is basic, but can b up to 160 psi.
If u have any issues call Evanol boats in stoon.

I belive the sportsmans have a auto decompression built into the cam may not get a good compression reading. My vote would be it needs a carb job.

Run some Seafoam thru it and see if it helps clean out the carb. It works if its just a little gum in the carb.
